The student choir of Driestar Christian University sings 'The First Nowell'

In the recording of our Christmas greeting, the student choir of our Driestar Christian University sings the old Christmas carol The First Nowell. The message of this carol is emphasised by students’ depictions of elements from the carols on paper stained-glass ‘windows’, a reference to the stained-glass windows in the Sint Janskerk in Gouda. Enjoy the result!

Leaving message Rens Rottier

Rens Rottier has decided to step down as chairman of the Executive Board of Driestar Christian University for Teacher Education at the end of 2022. This brings an end to almost 25 years of administrative responsibility for our institute. Yet Rens Rottier wants to put his knowledge and experience at the service of Christian education for a few more years. Read here his farewell message.

Jan Kloosterman new member of the executive board Driestar Christian University

Jan Kloosterman has been appointed as member of the executive board of Driestar Christian University for Teacher Education. A vacancy arose in the executive board due to the upcoming retirement of Rens Rottier. With effect from 1 February 2023, Jan Kloosterman and Robert Zoutendijk will form the executive board.

International Class 2023: Registration is now open

I see myself in the eyes of others. With this approach, Driestar Christian University for Teacher Education welcomed eight international students at the end of August. For three months, these students spent time with seven of our final year students, in search of the meaning of Christian education worldwide. They took part in our International Class, the eleventh edition!

In Memoriam: Mr. Piet Booij (1946 – 2022)

Over the years, many of our international visitors have met our former colleague Piet Booij. Last August, we heard that he was seriously ill and had to undergo treatment, after which he passed away on 13 November at the age of 75 years. He is now released from pain and suffering and with God for all eternity.

Master’s degree in Learning and Innovation: Christian Education

In September 2022, we again started our blended Master’s programme in Learning and Innovation, track: Christian Education. This third cohort includes nine students from various countries who meet online every Tuesday. The students, from Burkina Faso, France, Indonesia, Nepal, Netherlands, Saint Eustatius, South Sudan and Vietnam, have started their first semester with the theme: Christian Education: A Practices Approach.
