Celebrating Our New Masters of Education: Christian Teacher Leaders Worldwide

On Tuesday 1 April, five Teacher Leaders received their diplomas: Meena Karki Subba (Nepal), Kelly Lamiri (France), Marlene van Tonder (New Zealand), Patrice Kam (Burkina Faso) and Margreet Breugem (the Netherlands). Javanca Merkman, from Sint Eustatius, collected her diploma during an educational trip to the Netherlands on 16 April.

They are now Masters of Education, as was evident from the presentations they gave that day. This international Master's programme in Learning and Innovation focuses on Christian teaching and education worldwide. We were impressed by the innovations they introduced to their teaching practice in collaboration with their colleagues within the change team.

After a festive afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious meal together and ended the day by singing Michael W. Smith's 'Friends'. Although saying goodbye is hard, we know we are connected in Christ. Friendships formed here last a lifetime. We are grateful to God for the blessings in their lives and for the blessings they have brought to us at Driestar Christian University. We praise Him for giving us the opportunity to study and grow together in a Christian teacher leadership role across all cultures.
